Lisamarie has been my best friend for years. She is the peanut butter to my jelly (hence her nickname peanut). She inspires me all the time to be a better person spiritually, in my exercise routine, and as an explorer of planet earth. She’s the reason I rock climb in rubber ducky socks and an ugly Christmas sweater with a frolicking unicorn graphic. She always inspires me with how fearless she is in the outdoors (trad climbing anyone?) and how hard she pushes herself to reach her fitness goals. I also cannot think of any other person who, when I pick up the phone, I answer with: “bruh”. Not even hi, just “bruh”. ;)

Michelle and I go way back. We first met back in 2017 when I was attending South Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church. At the time, I was renting a house together with Janelle and Julie Glass, Hiba Alsady, and Kasia Goodness. We called it the bachelorette house and had bonfires and game nights almost every weekend. Kasia got married and we needed a new housemate which is when Michelle moved in. We’ve been friends ever since. She is such a special friend to me. I always cherish our long conversations about life and value Michelle’s emotional intelligence. She is what I consider my sage friend. If I need some advice she’s the friend that’s under speed dial.
Janelle Glass
Bridesmaid
I met Janelle in 2016. She was one of my first friends when I moved to the States, one of my first housemates, and my first and only roommate ever. Janelle is a friend that I can not talk to for weeks on end but when we meet up it’s like nothing has changed. I love Janelle’s adventurous spirit and how freaking laid-back she is. Janelle can rock a pretty dress, and pantsuit, but also throw an axe in the air and chop some wood for a bonfire. Heck yeah! From backpacking to deep emotional conversations to spontaneous swims at waterfalls to crying on each other’s shoulder to hiking in the snow in the PNW, we’ve done it all together. Janelle is a friend for life.
Brenda Mayer

Brenda and I met before I had even considered moving to the States. Back when I was still a spring chicken and in college I came and volunteered at Little Light Studios for the summer. But we didn’t become friends until I actually moved to the States a year later. I’ve cherished our friendship so much over the years and have always valued how Brenda took me in for many Christmases and Thanksgivings when I didn’t have anywhere else to go with my family all being oversees. Brenda is such a great friend who is always so kind and compassionate and I truly value having her in my life and as one of my best friends and bridesmaids.
Carolyn Ellis

Carolyn and I met through a Friday night Bible study that we both attended for a while. Carolyn is one of my most down-to-earth friends and one tough cookie (I mean, she’s building her own house!). She is so generous and kind and inspires me to be the same. She’s one of the four musketeers (Janelle, Michelle, me, and Carolyn) who always seem to end up getting together for girls nights, sleepovers, and girls breakfasts. She’s an amazing backpacking, camping, and hiking buddy, and a very valued friend.

David is Michael’s dad who is also going to be his best man at the wedding. Michael sees it as an honor to have his dad by his side, and show him this kind of respect.

Brother of the Bride/Groomsman
Luuk is Danique’s brother who will walk Danique down the aisle and then join Michael’s brothers as one of the groomsmen. Danique: Luuk is very dear to me. I’m always inspired by how hard working he is, how kind and caring he is with other people, and how he’s always trying to become the best version of himself. I love my brother very much and I couldn’t be happier to have him fly out for the wedding and walk me down the aisle. The girl he gets to marry someday is going to be so lucky to have him around for the rest of her life.
