Happily Ever After Party

Boyd and Lincoln introduced Michael and Courtney in Summer 2019. They were living in the same apartment complex and often ran into each other while taking the boys out. Lincoln was the first dog baby Boyd wasn't afraid of. Courtney technically made the first move when she asked him to ice cream - he quickly declined. Michael then sent her a few Facebook messages (many of which went unanswered) before she agreed to go on a date with him. On 7/11/2019 Boyd made his first trip to the dog park. While Lincoln showed him around, Michael did his best to entertain Courtney. She enjoyed herself enough to agree to go to City Barrel for a beer afterwards, despite his sailor mouth. They’ve spent nearly every day together since then. Michael knew Courtney was the one after they dropped Boyd off at hunting camp and Courtney was more concerned for his well-being than Michael. For Courtney, Michael felt like home to her from the start. We can't wait to come back to Iowa and celebrate with you all after our ceremony in Guatemala, where Courtney coaxed Michael into going for vacation in March 2020. Michael proposed to Courtney while at Lake Atitlan. Days before the trip, a college friend told Michael he'd visited Guatemala frequently and felt completely safe, but he wouldn't bring any expensive jewelry. Luckily for Courtney, Michael ignored his advice.
