Flight
Reagan is the smaller airport that is a slightly longer drive away but is accessible to the hotels via public transportation. It is a 41-minute car ride from the airport to downtown Bethesda where the hotel blocks are located. Or, you can take public transportation via the metro by getting on at the Reagan metro stop on the yellow line, transferring to the red line at the Gallery-Place China Town stop, and riding the red line to the Bethesda metro stop. Via the metro it is an approximately 45-minute train ride.
Flight
Dulles is a larger airport and is likely to have cheaper flights than DCA. Dulles is a 33-minute drive from downtown Bethesda. You can technically take the metro from the Dulles airport to downtown Bethesda but it would take you an hour and 45 minutes. You would get on at the metro on the silver line the Dulles stop, ride it all the way to the metro center stop where you would transfer over to the red line, and ride the red line out to the Bethesda metro stop.
Flight
BWI is the furthest airport from Bethesda, as it is close to Baltimore. BWI is a 56-minute drive away from Bethesda. Utilizing public transportation would be difficult, as you would need to take the Marc train to Union Station, get on the redline, and ride it out to the Bethesda stop. Google says that would be a 1 hour and 30 minute journey.
Train
For those on the east coast, utilizing the train could be a good option. If you book far enough in advance it can be cheaper than flying. You can take the Amtrak Acela to Union Station. From there you can hop on the metro red line and be in downtown Bethesda in 25 minutes.
