FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than June 30th so that we can plan properly.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We are keeping the wedding invitations to a select set of guests. We will only have kids that are direct family with prior confirmation from us.

Question

What should we know about the wedding venue?

Answer

This unique retreat boasts a storied only-in-California history: formerly a miner’s camp, a Pony Express lodge, a homestead, and an experimental winery. It’s now a cozy bed & breakfast that embraces the area’s natural beauty and wild spirit. Nestled at the base of the soaring Sierra Nevadas, the property encompasses 67 acres of ancient oaks, creeks that run year-round, historic barns, and sprawling meadows. It is a working farm with chickens, ducks, cats and goats free ranging on the property and a few working dogs as well. For this reason, no pets are allowed to attend. We recommend that all guests wear comfortable shoes for walking outside on sloping gravel roads and grass. Be cognizant of mobility concerns as there are some moderate uphill climbs to navigate. Flat or low-heeled shoes are very highly recommended. Dress in or bring layers of clothing. A small group campground is available to us for a small fee. See other FAQ below. If you do want to take advantage of that, please contact Michael or Christine. While the volume will be slightly lower at 10pm, there is no “lights out” time—we'll be partying way past our bedtime. https://www.theranchatstoneycreek.com/gallery

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Attire: semi-formal or cocktail. Please note that our entire wedding will take place outdoors on grass/cement . We recommend comfortable shoes! Bring a jacket or cover for later in the day. Please refrain from wearing white or dusty blue. White dress shirts are okay.

Question

What will the food be?

Answer

We are currently planning for full service Vietnamese cuisine from one of our favorite restaurants. We will take into consideration allergens as much as possible with the caveat that there may be limitations. We can work directly with you to confirm allergens and whether they can be accommodated if you let us know. The food will be 100% vegan. We want our wedding to be a special day that (hopefully) doesn't involve any suffering. If skeptical, we ask that you suspend disbelief. The restaurant that will be catering is one of our favorites (Pho Fresh) and will be serving a personally selected menu with a variety of options that will be approved in advance by our wedding party.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes! We will have an open bar with a variety of drinks available including some nonalcoholic drinks.

Question

Can I smoke or vape?

Answer

For the safety of all our guests and the threat of fires, smoking is taken very seriously at the venue. All smoking must be contained in the designated smoking area (circular stone driveway in front of the red barns). This includes cigarettes, cannabis, vapes, etc. Please dispose of all by-products in the provided garbage containers. Smoking in any other areas at The Ranch is strictly forbidden. Failure to adhere to these restrictions will result in us being fined $500.

Question

What are the venue's campground details?

Answer

You can bring your own tent and sleeping gear or bring a trailer up to 26' or a motorhome up to 30'. They do not have hookups, but there are 2 restrooms and 2 outdoor showers available for campers. The cost is $30 per person per night (pay to us).
