How We Met

6.25.18

We’re getting married! It all started in the least romantic of places - our workplace! Amid everyday tasks, we found something extraordinary: a friendship blooming through endless laughter and shared jokes. Our bond grew stronger as we ventured beyond pharmacy life, sharing adventures from the beautiful trails in the Catskills to culinary escapades with Hello Fresh, and, of course, cheering on the Bills together. These moments, filled with joy and warmth, have brought us to this amazing day. We're super excited about our next big adventure and even more excited to celebrate it with you.

The Proposal

9.25.23

I was not eager to have a photographer capture the day I proposed to Christa. I felt someone following me as I propose would add too much pressure. She was aware of this, and due to my constant complaints, it seemed unlikely she would get her engagement pictures. However, I changed my mind at the last minute and arranged a photoshoot during our trip to Punta Cana. The morning I was going to propose, I told her I made dinner reservations for tonight and to dress nicely. We were picked up in an old convertible Cadillac. Our driver, a friendly Russian man, spoke little English but managed to convey that it would be about a 45-minute drive. As we neared the estimated time, I checked my phone to gauge our proximity to the beach, the intended spot for the proposal. To my surprise, we were nowhere near any water according to my GPS at that 45-minute marker. The driver then exclaimed that we were going to pull onto a side road and take the top off the convertible. As he was out taking the top down, we looked down the path and spotted an unexpected sight: a masked man clearing the way with a machete. Christa and I just looked at each other. We slowly drove down the path as the machete man moved aside for us, eventually pulling into a beach area. My hope was confirmed - my phone wasn't getting good service. Our nerves started to settle as we arrived just fine. Our photographer, who also didn't speak any English, motioned for me to go over to the gazebo. Scrambling, I retrieved the ring from my backpack. He had Christa take a few solo pictures while I got ready. Soon enough, speakers began to play "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. Christa walked down the beach to me, her hair alternating between blowing like a model's in a photoshoot one minute and then covering her entire face the next minute. What made my heart melt was how excited I was, combined with seeing her happier than ever as she approached. As my voice quivered with emotion, I recapped how we met and all the moments that made me certain she is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. She said yes, and as we kissed with the music playing in the background and her hair blowing around both of our heads, it was perfect.
