Our love story begins with Chelsi's dad, Dennis, who was our matchmaker extraordinaire. Dennis met Michael in the locker room at The Hideaway Club where Dennis and Michael's parents both belong. Dennis came over to Michael at breakfast and struck up a conversation. Pretty soon Dennis was asking if Michael was married. It didn't take long for Dennis to decide Chelsi and Michael could be the perfect match for one another. After getting Chelsi's permission to share her number, Dennis told Michael to give Chelsi a call. This was March 2, 2020. Michael messaged Chelsi to get together the next time he came to Los Angeles, but then shelter-in-place orders due to COVID were put in place, and there was no chance to meet in person anytime soon. Our love story thus began over many FaceTimes. Over many games of 20 questions, Houseparty, and discussions of life we fell for one another. All while Chelsi was saving lives as a frontline hero ICU nurse during the pandemic. We didn't meet in person until a fateful walk around the Hideaway on June 14, 2020. Later that day Chelsi provided care and advice to Michael as his Grandma passed holding his and his mom's hands. We then met again a few weeks later on a spur of the moment, leap of faith trip to Bend, Oregon. Chelsi said she felt like Michael's grandma was watching over us at our first dinner in Bend. We were pretty sure after Bend that we had something special - we FaceTimed everyday and professed our love to each other a few weeks later when we met again in Calistoga - and fled an active fire together. Through it all, our love has grown and we can't wait to spend forever together. During our time together, the Big Sur and Carmel area has held a special place in our heart and is where we have made many memories together. Our love story has grown in this amazing place of beauty and tranquility. We got engaged in Big Sur, and we can't wait to get married in Carmel surrounded by our friends and family - see you soon!
