What is the difference between alligators and crocodiles?

Answer

Alligators usually have a wide U-shaped snout, darker skin, and live mostly in freshwater. Crocodiles have a narrower V-shaped snout, lighter coloring, and can live in both freshwater and saltwater. Crocodiles are also generally more aggressive than alligators.
