Cayley and Michael first met at Riverside Brookfield High School (Go Bulldogs!), where their story began as a friendship and a whole lot of good timing... and then some bad timing. After freshman year, Michael moved away, but the two somehow stayed connected through social media, late night Skype calls, and building worlds together online in Minecraft. Years later, in 2017, during college, that friendship finally turned into something more. What followed was 4.5 years of long-distance love between Las Vegas and Nashville, fueled by patience, commitment, and an impressive amount of Facetime. In 2021, they closed the distance when Cayley graduated and landed a job in Nashville, and by 2022 they were living together (with Michael's dog, Laika, fully in charge). Today, they share a home, a life, and even a workplace at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - proving that the best love stories are worth the wait.
