Guests are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony starts to find seating and settle in.
Yes, guests are usually expected to dress modestly and respectfully. For women, this often means dresses or skirts that have reasonable coverage and no plunging necklines. For men, suits or dress shirts and pants are appropriate. PLEASE DO NOT WEAR WHITE, IVORY, OR NAVY BLUE. THANK YOU!
Catholic wedding ceremony typically includes a Mass or a liturgical service, which features readings from Scripture, prayers, and the exchange of vows and rings.
There will be additional elements such as communion. Guests can participate by standing, sitting, and kneeling as the congregation does, but it’s perfectly fine to remain seated during communion if you are not Catholic.
Communion is a sacrament that is reserved for Catholics in a state of grace. If you are not Catholic, you are warmly invited to come forward for a blessing instead, or you may choose to remain seated during communion. If you decide to come up and would like a blessing rather than communion, please feel free to fold your arms in an “X” over your chest to indicate this. Thank you for your understanding.
To maintain the intimacy of the ceremony, we ask that guests refrain from taking photos during this time. A professional photographer will capture the moments, and we’ll share those with you afterward!
