You will need to bring your own bedding for the cabin, appropriate shoes and clothing, a bathing suit if you plan on swimming in Long Lake, sunscreen, bug spray, any personal hygiene items (shampoo, soap, toothbrush etc.), a chair (highly recommend!) and anything else you cant live without.
There are 16 cabins and 4 bunkhouses, all semi-rustic, with heat and electricity. There are bunk-style beds, but you will need to bring your own bedding. We will assign cabins as we see fit once we have an accurate headcount for camping.
We will be providing a simple breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning, a simple lunch on Saturday, and a feast Saturday evening after the ceremony. We recommend bringing some snacks for in between meals. You are welcome to bring specific food for your own meals if you want to.
A selection of craft beers, wine, and some non-alcoholic beverages will be provided for Saturday night, but you are welcome to bring your own if there is something else you'd like to drink.
Anything you like! No need for formal-wear (unless you really want to). Just wear comfortable clothes and shoes and remember to bring layers in case the night gets chilly.
Kids are welcome and there will be plenty of room for them to play, but there will be a fair amount of partying on Saturday night, so if you'd rather leave the kids at home that's fine too! We will try our best to accommodate anyone with children in a cabin with 4 or 5 beds.
You are welcome to join us for the ceremony and reception only, or you may reserve a room at a nearby hotel. Please see the travel section for names of hotels and estimated rates.
Long Lake Outdoor Center has generously included a cleanup package for us, so all guests must be out of the cabins and other buildings by 10 am Sunday, but are welcome to stay and play until 1 pm.
In lieu of traditional wedding gift registries, we have set up a honeymoon fund. We would greatly appreciate any contributions, as we believe the memories of a wonderful trip that we can cherish for the rest of our lives will be much more meaningful than things. If you reeeally want to give a physical gift, meaningful gifts or handmade keepsakes are always welcome.
Long Lake Outdoor Center is a historical site and, obviously, is surrounded by nature (nature isn't always nice- watch for poison ivy if you venture into the woods!). Please be respectful of the camp and it's facilities, as well as the surrounding outdoor areas. We care about the environment and we hope you do too, so please use provided recycling areas and NO LITTERING!
