Mike and Ashley met in 6th Century Attic Greek art class at FSU back in 2012. Ashley loved that class, Mike...not so much. Mike was a VERY recognizable character on campus and one day Ashley noticed him on her way to class (obviously he was headed in the same direction). Ashley decided to strike up on conversation because she's an extrovert and she decided they were going to be friends. Poor Mike had no clue and no choice in the matter. They became friends and remained friends for years until one day Mike reached out and asked her out. She said yes. Mike made her a fabulous homemade carbonara on their first date and it was so delicious that Ashley decided she was going to marry him that very day (just joking... but maybe not). The rest, as they say, is history.

Mike proposed the day before Ashley's 29th birthday. Ashley came home from work, opened the front door, and Mike was all dressed up and on one knee. It was a brilliant proposal because Ashley gets to re-live that moment every time she opens their front door. Mike said how much he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and asked, "Will you marry me?" Ashley replied, "I don't know, should I?" Mike said, "Probably not LOL" So, obviously, Ashley ecstatically said yes. And since that day, Chef Mike and Ashley have lived very happily in their tiny house with their two tiny dogs, Henrietta and Dalvin.
