Things To Do

Here are some of our favorite things to do around the West of Ireland!
Croagh Patrick

Croagh Patrick

Glaspatrick, Co. Mayo, Ireland

Croagh Patrick is located just outside the town of Westport, Co. Mayo. It's a fan favorite for hiking and the views at the top are absolutely breathtaking. You can make a day out of it and grab lunch in Westport after!

Westport

Westport

Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland

Pop into the town of Westport for lunch or dinner, shopping, a few drinks and amazing live Irish music! They have a great selection of stores & most pubs in that town have live music 7 nights a week. Some of our favorite places for live music are Matt Molloys, Porterhouse and Cosy Joe's. For food, we love The West Bar & Restaurant, The Helm, The Creel and This Must Be The Place for a quick bite and coffee. You can also do dinner at Luseas Rooftop Restaurant - it has a great view overlooking Croagh Patrick and the Clew Bay.

Beach Day

Beach Day

Ireland

Weather permitting, you might be able to sneak in a beach day! There are so many beautiful beaches around Mayo & Galway. Some our favorites beaches are Bertra, Carrowniskey, Carrowmore, White Strand and Glassilaun. The ride back to Glassilaun from Tourmakeady is beautiful, and you will go through the town of Leenane where you can grab coffee or lunch.

Galway Races

Galway Races

Co. Galway, Ireland

If you are in Ireland the week before our wedding, you can make a weekend out of the Galway races! The races go from July 27th - August 2nd, 2026. You can spend a few days in Galway City, exploring the surrounding area and experience the races.

Mulranny Golf Course

Mulranny Golf Course

Mallaranny, Ireland

Mulranny Golf Club is located just next to our reception location. The 9-hole course offers views of Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick while sitting alongside the Atlantic Ocean. If you are in Mulranny the day before or after our wedding, this could be a great activity!

The Aran Islands

The Aran Islands

Co. Galway, Ireland

The Aran Islands are located just off Co. Galway and Co. Clare. You can take a day trip out to the islands via passenger ferries (weather permitting). Ferries depart from Rossaveel (all year around), Galway (seasonal) and Doolin (seasonal).

Keem Bay

Keem Bay

Achill, Co. Mayo, Ireland

Heading towards Achill Island and Keem Bay is a great way to spend your day! They usually have food trucks by the beach during the summer and there is parking available for cars.

Tourmakeady Waterfall

Tourmakeady Waterfall

Toormakeady East, Co. Mayo, Ireland

Grab a coffe at Caife Glas (F12 C6F2) and head for a walk to the waterfall. You will see signs for it around the village.

Lahinch

Lahinch

Lahinch, Co. Clare, Ireland

If you travel down to Clare, definitely spend time in the beachside town of Lahinch! Not only does it have a beautiful beach, but some amazing bakeries, nice spots for lunch and a golf club.
