We met at school, both studying to become physical therapist assistants. I was flummoxed by her not having seen The Princess Bride. So I lent her my copy. She fell in love with the movie, but failed to memorize any of the lines outside of "As you wish."

Fast forward through the school months, we begin studying together after class. It begins innocent enough, until Andrea couldn't stand how I wasn't giving her as much attention as I was to the textbooks. To remedy this, she begins poking me to tickle me and draw my attention. Mathematically, the poking leads to more talking and having fun outside of the studying. We barely pass our exams.

It happened at the 90th St station, off the 7 train. All I remember is kissing her quickly, and then walking away awkwardly. I am a Smooth Criminal.

From that first kiss, we began dating. From that dating, we moved in together. We still argue about which of my comic book art work can go up on the walls. We graduated college too, and began working in our fields. We began to travel together, including trips to Washington DC, Lancaster, Boston, camping in Maryland, a road trip to Kentucky, and the penultimate month long Euro Backpacking Trip on which during a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle, atop a bridge thousands of feet above a ravine, I dropped to my knee and proposed to Andrea.
