We had our first unofficial date the night of Michael’s senior prom — though “date” might be generous. Michael played a Batman video game in his basement while Aly watched (patiently) for about two hours. And somehow, that night was the beginning of our love story. That summer was full of NYC trips, getting to know each other’s families, and becoming best friends. When fall came, Michael went off to college, and we began a long-distance relationship that lasted for the next five years. Like any great story, there were challenges — especially in 2018, when Michael left to study abroad in Spain for five months. The distance and time difference were tough, but true love prevailed. After college, a global pandemic, and what Aly’s family lovingly calls “the world’s longest relationship” — here we are! We’re so grateful for the love, support, and encouragement we’ve received from all of you over the years. We can’t wait to celebrate the start of our forever with you!
