We originally met in high school through a mutual friend just casually passing in the hallways. Every so often we would talk to each other on messenger doing regular small talk and catching up. But, on Halloween 2020 we passed out candy at Tim’s house. We haven’t seen each other in a while so we were nervous. So, as the night on we were having a good time. As trick or treating ended, Tim randomly asked me “Hey would you want to be my girlfriend?” And I said “sure!” And ever since then our story was history with 5 years of getting to know each other with our strengths and weaknesses.

It was a nice, clear, mid-70s day. Perfect for a baseball game! Which we were going to that day to see the Pittsburgh Pirates at 4pm. Before that we stopped to get some lunch at this nice, little, mom and pop place in Bellevue called Joe’s Rusty Nail. It was the place we to on our first date and have been going there ever since. When we walked in we were greeted by one of the waitresses to whom Tim has known a long time and she gave us a hug. When we sat down at the table ours was the only one decorated in the place but I didn’t notice. When we got our food I saw that Tim was nervous about something. Then his mom walked in with a bouquet of roses and gave them to me. I questioned it but didn’t really think much of it. We started eating when his mom says “let me check my phone”. Next thing I know Tim says “Hey babe I got a question for you” and gets on his knee and proposed and I just nodded my head yes in shock.
