It was the Summer of 2019, and Michaela was about to start her first semester at Nassau Community College. Nick, who was in his second year there, was volunteering as an orientation leader to introduce the new wave of incoming students to the school. Michaela ended up in his group and he took notice of her alternative style. Nick thought she was cute and Michaela was oblivious to it at the time! A month passes and Michaela's friend invites her to a backyard party, she didn't know anyone who would be there besides the two friends that brought her. Still, she figured it would be fun at her first official college party. Turns out the host was a cute and very tall guy from her new school. She gave him her Snapchat that night and they started texting back and forth. Lucky for Nick, Michaela just moved a couple blocks away from him earlier that month and so he invited her to hang out a week after the party. This was when Nick told her that the friend that had invited her to his party was an orientation leader at NCC just like him. It didn't take long for Nick to put the pieces together and realize that HE was her orientation leader and she was the girl that he noticed and thought was cute that day. Michaela couldn't believe they had met already and swore it must have been a different person that day. Alas, it wasn't. And thats why we count August 28th and September 20th BOTH as the day we met ;)
