All because two people swiped right…

Michaela and Marissa define the modern love story. One night, on March 22nd 2022, the typical ping of a Hinge notification sounded. Michaela and Marissa matched. With Marissa living in Georgia and Michaela living in Florida, meeting was not exactly a quick and easy endeavor. Sparse, dry conversations and a long Snapchat streak later… Michaela and Marissa finally met… 2 months later. On a trip home to Tampa, FL, Marissa reached out, asking Michaela to go out for drinks… (at 9pm the day before she left town). Michaela, who figured she had nothing to lose, said yes. The next hurdle was trying to find somewhere that was open that late on a Sunday night- but alas, the reliable, good ole Bar Louie at International Mall was open. So, on May 15th 2022, Michaela and Marissa met. The moment Michaela laid eyes on Marissa, she finally understood what all those romance books she reads, really meant. Love at first sight is an improbable notion; however, there’s no other way one could describe the feeling the two shared in that moment. After a drink or two at the bar, with last call looming over their heads, Marissa didn’t want the night to end. So she asked Michaela to go to the beach, sit in the sand, and talk more. Smitten already, Michaela said yes. They sat on that beach until 4 o’ clock in the morning talking, laughing, and finding themselves in a whole new way- because finding eachother was finding their soulmate. From that day forward, Michaela and Marissa talked daily, doing anything to make the long distance work. There were numerous phone calls, FaceTime dates, flights and drives to meet in various cities, texts, snap, flower deliveries….until, on December 17th 2022, Michaela and Marissa played into the typical U-Haul stereotype and Marissa moved to Tampa, FL and they began living with each other. Fast forward to April 2023... You see- Michaela and Marissa only pushed each other to be better, they helped each other grow, learn, and step into the next chapter of their lives. So with career changes on the horizon, a new adventure began when they moved to the DMV. The challenges though plentiful, the love was evermore. Then on November 18th 2023, Marissa proposed to Michaela… with Michaela popping the question right back on November 23rd, 2023. And as all good love stories go, the rest is history…
