Joe and Michaela were hanging out at the house on December 18, 2021. Joe was, as usual, talking some crazy smack about the Patriots while Michaela scrolled Instagram, attempting to drown out the insanity. Michaela then got up to use the restroom and offhandedly mentioned that she was receiving a bunch of targeted ads for rings. When she returned from the bathroom, Joe was on one knee, holding a ring box, and he asked her to marry him. Michaela was totally awestruck and speechless, but was finally able to blurt out YES OF COURSE! It was sweet and simple and intimate and perfect.
