We met through a mutual friend Freshman year of High School. I had butterflies the first time I met Stev. I thought he was very handsome and very dorky. Our friend Cisco kept saying he had a feeling that we would be best friends & would get married. I guess you could say he was Stev's wingman/fortune teller. As those first few months went by, we got super close & became best friends. Music, art, & movies were big hobbies in our friendship. In a sense, it was how we bonded. We were both supportive of each other when it came to sports, school concerts, or just things in our personal lives. As our bond grew, our feelings for each other did too. Stev asked me on my first date & asked me to be his girlfriend. Time passed & things didn't work out, but we remained best friends. We always supported the other person's decisions & stayed in close contact. A couple years later, we decided that we couldn't just continue as friends & that we loved each other still. I started to attend Red Rocks Community College with Stev & it helped made me feel comfortable knowing my best friend was with me at the same school. Realizing the motions of our relationship, we moved out together at 18 & 19. It was a whole new adventure in our story. Two young college students living on their own & putting the pieces of their love story together. We had our battles when it came to figuring out adult hood, but we never gave up. Deciding that I was ready to live the rest of my life with him, I decided to pop the question. I had it all planned out (it did not go as planned and that can be a funny story at the wedding). Hours later after the epic fail of my proposal, this amazing man I'm soon to call my husband said yes. It took some time for us to get where we are now, but I wouldn't change a thing about our story. 10+ years later with our crazy adventures & here we are now. Knowing that this is my best friend & my husband gives me the butterflies I felt all those years ago meeting him.
