We met at Walmart, where he works. I, Michaela, would have typically just had a normal day, walking around and scanning the aisles to see what I may have needed or wanted. On November 30th, 2022, I walked into Walmart with one of my friends whom I had worked with at Bojangles before leaving for Valley. I was trying to get a cart out (and was struggling tremendously), and I scanned the area out of embarrassment, hoping no one was watching. Dakota was. He works in produce, so he was right there, stocking the fresh foods. Our eyes met, and I hate to admit, but I may or may not have tried to keep going over to his department, just so I could see him. Stalkerish, right? It worked though. We didn't talk that day sadly, in person. That night, he texted the friend I was with, because he knew her, asking all about me. I even took control of texting him because she was cooking dinner at the time he was texting. He sent his phone number, I saved it, and then I texted him later on. Others would say we moved quickly, but I believe it was perfect timing on both ends. We became official December 2nd, 2022. We had our first date, where we watched Christmas movies and he made me steak, on December 5th. Our time together so far has been a blur, but it's been the most sweetest, most precious part of our life by far.
