Transitioning from a large wedding to a more intimate gathering is a decision we never expected to make. We hope you understand & we love all of you!

Our love story began with an app called Hinge. A couple days before a 6 month coast guard deployment, Cory and Michaela matched on the app and hit it off. On the first night of talking for hours and even knowing Cory would be gone for the next 6 months, Michaela felt a sense of peace about him that she couldnt describe. Cory asked her if she wanted to keep in touch and it was getting late so he said he will text her tomrrow and ask and she agreed it was a plan. The next day he asked her “So what’s the verdict?” and without hesitation Michaela said “Sure let’s keep in touch ☺️”. Before Cory left for his first stop (Hawaii), there was an agreement that at every stop he would send her a picture and she would guess where in the world he was and she was correct 65% of the time (he says 50% 😂). Even with an 18 hour time difference, they kept in touch via text when he was at his stops and then via email when he was out at sea. They’ve lost count how many emails they have during their 6 month courtship as there was one point Cory had to delete some to make room for more! Around May, 3 months before his boat returned to California, they FaceTimed for the first time and it felt like they had met before. Michaela and Cory knew what they had was very special and anxiously waited for July 2 to come so they could be reunited. After 10 stops and 6 months, Cory returned on July 2 and Michaela was there waiting for him with a “Welcome Home my Cory James” sign and when they were reunited, they knew what they had. A couple months later they took a cross country road trip together to send Cory off to training and then 3 months later Cory proposed to Michaela in Williamsburg, VA on Crim Dell Bridge (the legend of the bridge is when lovers kiss at the peak and cross they are soul mates forever) and the rest is history!
