We’re getting married!

It all began in 2018 when Mike and Sabrina swiped right on Tinder, starting a chapter neither of them expected. Mike had just moved from Connecticut to Kentucky for nursing school at Bellarmine—thanks to a decision-making process that involved sorting nursing programs from A to Z. After a few fun dates, they ghosted each other, thinking that was the end of it. Fast forward to February 29, 2020—a leap year day just before the world changed with the COVID pandemic. They reconnected and went on a date at Louisville Mexican Restaurant. From there, their story picked up again, but it wasn’t quite smooth sailing. As the pandemic unfolded, they began spending more time together, prepping meals and binge-watching their favorite shows during lockdown. They realized how much they enjoyed each other’s company, but Mike was planning to return to Connecticut after finishing nursing school. With some convincing from Sabrina, Mike decided to stay in Kentucky a little longer to pursue his APRN degree at Bellarmine. Despite growing closer, the couple decided dating seriously wasn’t the best idea with Mike’s plan to travel-nurse and eventually head back to Connecticut. But on January 18, 2021, they officially took the leap and committed to a serious relationship, ready to take on the challenges of long-distance as Mike embarked on travel nursing in Sacramento. FaceTime became their best friend during almost a year apart. In early 2022, Mike decided to complete his nurse practitioner internship in Indiana, staying with Sabrina in Louisville during that time. They loved the experience of living together and realized that despite their hectic schedules and future uncertainties, they could make it work. Shortly after, Sabrina took the leap and moved to Connecticut to be with Mike. Two more years of love and adventures later, Mike got down on one knee and proposed to Sabrina in the Dominican Republic on May 26, 2024. And now, they’re ready to write the next chapter of their story.
