We first met in middle school when we were next door neighbors and then virtually reconnected years later when we had moved far apart from each other and were residing in different countries in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic (Kelsy in Utah and Michael in the UK for a master's program). Since then, our connection has only grown stronger and stronger even as a long-distance couple with Kelsy pursuing her artistic talents and finishing her secondary art education degree in Utah while Michael is training to be a physician-scientist in New York City.

On a hot summer day while Kelsy and Michael were enjoying each other's company in NYC, Michael took Kelsy upstate to Cold Spring, NY to the Little Stony Point hike overlooking the Hudson River after a walk through dense trees and green scenery. There, on the edge of a cliff, Michael proposed to Kelsy and she said "yes."
