Welcome

We’re so excited to celebrate our special day with all of our favorite people in one of our favorite places — Seabrook Island. Our story begins long before we even met. Michael grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, while Evan was raised in Marietta, Georgia — two towns hundreds of miles apart, yet closer than we ever realized. As a kid, Michael spent many Thanksgivings visiting family just minutes from Evan’s childhood home, unknowingly passing through the same streets she grew up on. Years later, in 2017, Michael had just decided to hang up his goggles and end his college swimming career at UNCW — just two weeks before Evan arrived on campus for her recruiting trip. Somehow, we kept narrowly missing each other. It wasn’t until the summer of 2019 that our paths finally crossed on the beach while working for Ocean Rescue. Over the years, we became coworkers, then friends, and eventually something more. By the summer of 2022, we officially started dating — and haven’t looked back since. Together, we’ve shared a love of travel, adventure, and discovering new places — from Coronado to Martha’s Vineyard, from Park City (where Michael proposed!) to Seabrook Island, which has become such a special part of our journey. Nestled just outside of historic downtown Charleston, this private, coastal paradise holds a special place in our hearts. For Michael and his family, it's a place filled with cherished childhood memories of exploring the lush maritime forest and learning to ride bikes. After sharing the island together, it became a clear and special place for us as a couple. We can't wait to share its secluded beauty and coastal charm with you as we begin our life together. Special thanks to John and Flo Gilson for helping make this celebration at Seabrook possible Cheers! - The (soon to be) Thomases
