Our story goes all the way back to November 2019, when we matched on Hinge, and Micala found herself utterly helpless to Dan’s charm (guess which one of us got to write this part?). It wasn’t long before we realized we both loved hiking, dogs, and travel. Only one problem, we were on the opposite sides of Orlando— that’s $12.38 in tolls! But drive, we did. We found our way into each others hearts, and suddenly we were always on each other’s minds. What a love story we began to write, accelerated by the time and closeness that a Covid lockdown gave us. As our hobbies, friends, and families began to intertwine, we became a unit. “Where’s Micala?” had become “Where are Dan and Micala?” We have gone everywhere together. At least ten national parks, numerous pickleball courts, twelve different countries, and probably half of the physical therapists in Orlando. Since that first date at Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, we slowly became inseparable. In fact, the only thing that has been able to separate us over these past few years is Crew Scheduling. In Summer 2024, Dan finally had the courage to ask Micala the question that had been on his mind since 2020: “Will you marry me?”. With some help from his twin sister, Heather, he was able to catch Micala completely off guard on a hike in Maryland on the drive up to Camp Hoffman, where Micala got to surprise all her family with the news. We are so excited to be bringing our families and friends together this Winter for our wedding at Bella Cosa, and we can’t wait to celebrate our story with all of you!
