In my (Tori's) Sophomore year of high school, my best friend Tessy (maid-of-honor) told Micah and I individually that we should meet, and gave me his phone number one night while I was sleeping over at her house. Micah and I texted for about a week before we lost touch. Then, a few months later, in February 2016, when an annual carnival came into town and Tessy and I were planning to go together, I knew that I needed to meet Micah in person. So, we contrived the perfect date and time for when he would be able to join us for the day. We met. And we had been almost inseparable ever since, planning cute dates for each other, meeting in-between his work schedule and my dance schedule; learning who we were in the process. Then Micah graduated, and a few months later his future changed. In February 2018 Micah enlisted in the United States Air Force, and left for training. We spent 6 weeks writing letters to each other, with one or two phone conversations sprinkled in, until we got to see each other again at his graduation in April, 2018. With tearful eyes but hopeful hearts, we said goodbye until October, when he got to come home and visit me in my new home at the University of Florida. This was the first time that we noticed how different our lives looked, but how our relationship still felt as strong, if not stronger than ever. Micah left home to report to his base in South Korea for a year last October, and I and his family got to visit him this past June. Coincidentally, this is also where he proposed to me after a day of exploring palaces, drinking tea and traveling the amazing city of Seoul together. This experience has left an indelible mark in our lives forever. In less than a month, Micah moves to his next base in Italy to set the ground work for our life there, where we will get to live in the town of Aviano for two years, traveling, working, finishing our degrees and learning how to live life together . Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!
