Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Kaleigh Micah Morris and Samuel Andrew Schmitz
We’re so excited to be getting married in a place that means so much to us! Florence, Alabama is where our story began — the city where we fell in love while in college at UNA. It only feels right to celebrate our special day here! Below are some of our favorite spots and activities in this sweet little town we once called home.
McFarland Park

McFarland Park

200 James M Spain Dr, Florence, AL 35630

This spot will always hold a special place in our hearts because it’s where our story began. On March 6, 2021, we both drove from our hometowns to meet for a small picnic date — our very first! It took Micah about a week to convince her parents that Sam wasn’t a “scary man from the internet,” and Sam… well, he just told his parents he was going to McFarland to fish. If you want to soak in some sunshine, nature, and a little Shoals charm, this is the perfect spot to visit.

Ricatoni's Italian Grill

Ricatoni's Italian Grill

107 North Court Street, Florence, AL 35630

This spot will always be one of our favorites — especially for Sam! He spent countless shifts here as a bartender and server, and it quickly became one of Micah’s go-to places, too. She’d sit at the bar during Sam’s shifts, enjoying Ricatoni’s famous ravioli and a cocktail (mostly to keep him company, of course). We love this cozy, local gem — and we know you will too!

GunRunner Boutique Hotel

GunRunner Boutique Hotel

310 East Tennessee Street, Florence, AL 35630

While we’ve never stayed the night here, we love the rooftop bar! The atmosphere is unmatched — great drinks, a beautiful view, and a fun, stylish vibe. It’s been the perfect spot for pre-event hangouts and a few of our favorite nights in Florence. A 10/10 recommendation from us!

The Carriage Wine and Market

The Carriage Wine and Market

121 East Mobile Street, Florence, AL 35630

Micah’s favorite spot in Florence — and the place that turned her into a wine lover. This was one of our go-to date night spots to dress up a little, share a glass (or two), and enjoy their jalapeño pimento cheese. If you’re looking for a relaxed date night before the wedding or want to pick up a bottle to take home, The Carriage is the perfect choice.

360 Grille

360 Grille

10 Hightower Place, Florence, AL 35630

If you’re looking for a great meal with an even better view, 360 Grille is a must. While it’s not a spot we visit often, it definitely deserves a place on our list. The restaurant slowly rotates as you dine, giving you a full panoramic view of Florence and the Shoals. It’s such a unique experience and a perfect way to see just how special this little town really is.

Rivertown Coffee

Rivertown Coffee

117 North Seminary Street, Florence, AL 35630

A downtown favorite and a total Florence staple. You can’t miss it — just look for the heart sign covered in locks out front! Whether you need a caffeine boost or just want to soak in the local vibe, this cozy coffee shop is a must-try!
