We were introduced by our good friends Maria and Rey on the night of Medical Student Prom. At the time, Maria, Rey, and Quin were medical students, and Micah was a graduate student. Maria and Micah had been close friends since college, and after getting to know her classmates in medical school, Maria wanted to try her hand at matchmaking for a few of her single friends. Maria’s boyfriend, Rey, was one of Quin’s best friends. He showed Quin a few photos of Micah, and Quin thought she was gorgeous. Rey offered to give him Micah’s phone number, but Quin declined. He wanted to meet her in person first. So Maria and Rey devised a plan. Micah would attend the prom as Maria’s “date”, and Quin would be convinced to attend without one. The plan worked, and they all ended up at a small party a few hours before the event. Quin took full advantage of the opportunity and spent essentially the entire party talking with Micah. She didn’t mind at all. At some point, Quin asked the all-important question, “What’s your favorite number?” Micah answered “3”, Quin answered “5”, and after a few months of close friendship, our official dating anniversary became March 5. Since then, we have weathered years of standardized tests, family loss and hardship, hundreds of drives across Dallas to spend time together, career changes, the uncertainty of the 2025 Residency Match, and most recently, life on opposite sides of the country. Through it all, our fierce love for one another has flourished, and we have been blessed with countless sweet memories to last a lifetime. We are overjoyed to enter the covenant of marriage together on December 11, 2026 – exactly four years after the night we met. We are delighted to have you join us. We couldn’t have done it without you.
