UK citizens with a British passport do not need a visa for Taiwan for visits of up to 90 days however you will need to fill out an arrival card within 3 days of your arrival (you can also fill it out when you arrive at immigration, no worries if it slips your mind!) The website to fill it out is: https://twac.immigration.gov.tw/ If you are not travelling on a British passport, please make sure you check visa requirements carefully before your travel! 持英國護照的英國公民無需簽證即可在台灣停留最多90天，但需在抵達後3天內填寫入境卡（您也可以在入境處填寫，即使忘記也不用擔心！）。填寫入境卡的網站是： https://twac.immigration.gov.tw/ 若您並非持英國護照，請務必在出發前仔細核查簽證要求！

May time tends to be 26-30 degrees during the day, and 23-25 degrees at night so make sure you pack that sunscreen and UV umbrella (may get a spot of tropical rain too, so keep an eye on the forecast!) 歡迎來到陽光明媚的高雄！名副其實的陽光燦爛！五月白天溫度通常在攝氏26-30度之間，夜間溫度在攝氏23-25度之間，所以一定要帶上防曬乳和抗UV傘（也可能會有小雨，所以要注意天氣預報！）

What should I wear? 參加婚禮穿著需要注意什麼?

Answer

We want everyone to dress in a way that makes them feel comfortable, but just a few principles to keep in mind- we should choose "appropriate dress, with modesty and soundness of mind" and maintain a clean appearance that reflects our "devotion to God ." (1 Timothy 2:9, 10) While we have the freedom to choose what we wear, we should think of the effect our appearance might have on others. We try our best not to offend anyone but rather to "please [our] neighbour for his good, to build him up." Romans 15:1, 2. 我們希望每個人都能穿著讓自己感到舒適的服裝，但也要牢記以下幾個原則：我們應該“衣著得體端莊，反映健全的思想”，保持整潔的儀容，以彰顯我們對上帝的“敬虔”（提摩太前書 2:9-10）。 雖然我們有穿衣的自由，但也應該考慮自己的穿著打扮可能會對他人造成的影響。我們盡力不冒犯任何人，而是「讓別人喜悅，得到益處，受到鼓勵」（羅馬書 15:1-2）。

How can I travel from the Kingdom Hall to the reception venue? 我該如何從王國聚會所前往接待地點？

Answer

Thankfully, even if you are relying on public transport, the journey is relatively simple. It's a 2 minute walk to Cianjin 前金 station, then jump on the train heading to Daliao 大遼 station and stay on that until the very last stop- roughly a 25 minute journey! There's only 1 line at that station, so no fears of getting too lost...we hope! For scooter or driving instructions, we recommend using your usual satnav. The venue has provided a map for the parking lot directions which we'll upload onto this site :D 好消息是，即使您選擇搭乘大眾運輸，行程也相對簡單。步行2分鐘即可到達捷運前金站，然後搭乘開往大寮站的列車，一直坐到終點站——全程約25分鐘！該站只有一條線路，所以不用擔心迷路！ 如果您騎摩托車或開車前往，請使用導航˙。

You can pick up a prepaid sim card when you arrive at the airport. They generally offer cards for a variety of lengths of time including 3, 5, 7, 10, or 30 days etc. However, be warned most airport kiosks close around 20:00. If arriving outside these hours, purchasing at a convenience store will be necessary. 您可以在抵達機場後購買預付費SIM卡。機場通常提供不同有效期限的SIM卡，例如3天、5天、7天、10天或30天等。但請注意，大多數機場販售店在台北時間:晚上8點左右關閉。如果您在非營業時間抵達，則需要前往便利商店購買SIM卡。

How can I make payments in Kaohsiung City? 我在高雄的支付方式？

Answer

Cash is king in Kaohsiung, credit cards or debit cards are not accepted everywhere so it's always safer to have some cash on you. Cash: Necessary for small, traditional, or street-food vendors (i.e. night markets!). Mobile Wallets: Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay are widely accepted at modern retail outlets. LINE Pay: Extremely popular, especially for QR code payments in restaurants and shops. Credit/Debit Cards: Accepted at hotels, malls, and department stores, though smaller vendors might not accept foreign cards. 在高雄以現金為主。並非所有地方都接受信用卡或簽帳金融卡，所以隨身攜帶一些現金比較安全。 現金：在小型、傳統或街頭小吃攤（例如夜市！）消費必不可少。 行動錢包：Apple Pay、Google Pay 和 Samsung Pay 在現代零售店廣泛接受。 LINE Pay：蠻多商店開始使用，算是在台灣最普遍的電子支付方式。 信用卡/簽帳金融卡：在飯店、商場和百貨公司可以使用，但小型商家可能不接受外國卡。

Getting around in Kaohsiung?

Answer

Transport: Use the Kaohsiung underground (MRT), buses or light rail by tapping with a Easycard (悠遊卡; yōuyóukǎ). Where to Buy: 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and Kaohsiung MRT stations. Cost: Cards typically cost NT$100 (non-refundable fee) plus your desired top-up amount. 交通：使用悠遊卡搭乘高雄捷運、巴士或輕軌很方便。購買地點：7-Eleven、全家和高雄捷運站。 Uber is also convenient and relatively cheap here in Kaohsiung. For a 10 minute journey, you could be looking at spending around NT$150-NT$250 (roughly £3.50-£6).

For us, the greatest gift is the presence of our friends and family.
