Ceremony - River Terrace Church Reception - The Country Club of Lansing

Our story begins in Grand Rapids, MI, August 2022, when Micah was entering his junior year at Calvin University and Marian her senior year. Micah and Marian matched through a dating app and went on their first date at Outside Coffee Co. the weekend before classes started. During their conversation over lemonade and lavender lattes, they realized they would both be taking Human Anatomy that semester! They became study partners and got to know each other further while quizzing each other on the nervous system's structure and the name of each muscle on the cats they had to dissect in anatomy lab. In May 2023, Marian moved to Ann Arbor, MI for work, which began a season of medium-distance dating. A year later, the season of long-distance dating began. Post-graduation, Micah moved home to Colorado. It was challenging for them to be apart, but as Marian's grandmother says, "Distance makes the heart grow fonder." They had many adventures over FaceTime, like cooking together, watching episodes of "Stranger Things," and reading each other "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring." In March 2025, Marian went out to visit Micah in Colorado. It was there, during a sunrise hike at Red Rocks, with Micah's mom hiding in the bushes to capture the moment, that Micah proposed. Of course (through the happy tears), Marian said yes! We are so grateful for our relationship and the ways God has worked to bring us together. We are also incredibly grateful for our friends and family who shaped us into who we are today and have guided and supported us throughout our lives. We can't thank you enough for being such an important part of our story, and we look forward to celebrating with you in December!
