Cafe Du Monde French Market
If you haven't had a beignet at Cafe Du Monde, this is a must! It's in the heart of the French Quarter and right next to the French Market!
New Orleans Museum of Art
Nestled in City Park, this great museum is also very close to a branch of Cafe du Monde! (Art AND beignets AND ancient live oak trees dripping with Spanish moss! You can have it all!)
Cure
Cure is our favorite cocktail bar. It's also officially one of the best cocktail bars in the country, and has an amazing happy hour! (A selection of excellent cocktails for $6 from 4-6pm every day)
Audubon Park and Zoo
Located in Uptown near Tulane University, this park is one of my favorite places in the city! Beautiful, mossy Spanish Oaks span the area, along with a golf course and Audubon Zoo.
Audubon Aquarium of the Americas
Located on the Mississippi River adjacent to the French Quarter, Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is consistently top ranked, voted as one of the top five in the country. The Aquarium transports visitors to an underwater world from the Caribbean, to the Amazon Rainforest, to the waters that give New Orleans its lifeblood: the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico.
