We attended the same high school, but in no way were we sweethearts. In fact, we did not have our first encounter until a decade later at a baby shower. Holly showed up late, as usual, but just in time to spot something that she couldn't keep her eyes off of. What was it? A gift wrapped in a brown paper Winco bag from the bachelor himself, Micah. Was it love at the first site? Nope, but that's how we met! Months went by and Holly was on a mission to convince all her friends to go on a spontaneous trip to Seattle, she even slid into Micah dm's to help encourage everyone. Even though we barely knew each other, somehow we spoke the same language and all ended up in Seattle together! Micah walked into the hotel room as Holly was taking shots of tequila, with lemon slices every where. He thought her sour smile was cute, and she thought he was pretty sweet for shoving her into a cab. From that day on, we spent the next three years in a long-distance relationship, only seeing each other on the weekends and saying our goodbyes on Sundays. One thing we bonded over was never giving up on friendships or family and that included each either. We made the short amount of time sweet as possible, by traveling and exploring new cities, waking up to boozy brunches, and had five-course dinners like it was our last meal. Our Sunday nights were Bittersweet, spent at Union Square waiting for Micah's train. We parted ways for the week with Sunday night slow jams, on repeat.
Holly's least favorite place on this Earth is the Zoo. That's where Micah got down on one knee, in front of a Garbage can and asked Holly to be his forever!
