Micah and I met on one of the first days of freshman year of high school. Our mutual friend, Jennifer Plemmons, introduced us and we were friends for the next four years. We even went to homecoming together our sophomore year! After high school, we both went off to two different colleges, but somehow, we ended up reconnecting the summer after freshman year. We spent almost every day together for those few months and then both went back to school. When Micah was back home one weekend, we went hiking up to a waterfall where he asked if I would be his girlfriend. On August 31, 2019, almost four years after he asked me to be his girlfriend, Micah asked me to be his wife. We were at the Ocean Course Clubhouse at Kiawah Island where we had a beautiful dinner and then took a walk on the beach. Micah brought his camera to do a "time-lapse" of the sunset and then asked me to stand in the shot. Then he walked up behind me and got down on one knee. I was so excited that I didn't even see the ring when he asked! It was a perfect moment and afterwards we just sat on the beach and took it all in.
