We met at the bank I was working for at the time. CJ's car was broken into the night before and he came into the bank to have a temporary card issued. I was gathering my things to head to lunch when he walked in and was greeted by my manager. As I was getting ready to head out my manager stopped me and asked if I could help a gentlemen who had his items stolen. I was irritated and did not want to help him but of course I did. When I walked over to my desk he was sitting there with a huge smile on his face( cheek to cheek). I asked him why he was smiling so much since his things were stolen. He said he was just happy to be here. I then asked for his first and last name and pulled him up in the system. I immediately began to smile because I saw his finances and thought to myself " thank you, Lord!". To confirm, I asked for the last four of his social security and then he corrected me by saying " I am a junior". So sadly it was his fathers account and not his! We proceeded to chat and CJ asked for my phone number before he left--of course I gave it to him. From there we went on several dates and traveled together. We were inseparable from then on!
CJ and I would take trips to Arkansas monthly or so to visit my family. This particular time was nothing out of the ordinary as we always gathered with family and friends and my mom would make a whole spread for us. One of my favorite games is Uno and I always asked CJ and whomever was in our home at the time to play. So we all got together in the living room to play Uno and as we're playing it comes around to CJ's turn. He then says "I'm sorry baby but I'm about to hit you". I said " yea yea okay, go ahead". He then slaps down a wild card that reads "Will you marry me?". Of course I said yes and just about had a heart attack when I saw the ring. It felt wonderful to share our special moment with friends and family.
