When I met Micah I was going through my senior year of high school. It was almost graduation and I facetimed my friend Marcus Peterson who was attending GSBC in Santa Clara, California. While catching up with him for a while, he mentioned to me that someone mentioned to him that I was cute. Of course, with my curiosity I questioned who it was and wanted to see who said that. Then he says, "Oh her name is Micah." At this moment in my life, I had a lot going on with school and choosing which college I was going to attend, like most average seniors. However, I did follow Micah at the time on Instagram and yes... I did slide into her DMs with a classic "Are you the girl that was on Face Time?" Just to spark a conversation with her. We exchanged phone numbers and starting texting back and forth. At that time I decided to attend American International College to continue my academic and athletic career. After making that decision I knew that texting back and forth with Micah probably would not be a good idea to create false hope of one day meeting each other due to me not being in the same place as her. So we stopped texting for a while and kind of went our separate ways. Then, AIC did not pane out to be where God wanted me to be, so I was either heading to the ARMY or to bible college. I decided to give bible college a chance and attended it for the fall semester not really knowing what to expect. I was able to create the best relationship with some of the BOIS while also getting into relationship with the girl of my dreams! I would never have thought that God would have had the person that I would fall in love with and want to spend the rest of my life with all the way on the other side of the country. God really did work all of the little details out and I have not been perfect in my life but I'm so thankful that I serve a God who is perfect and made this all possible for me! I love you Micah Lopez.
It's crazy to think that I'll be marrying my best friend in a few short months. Cameron and I are beyond excited for this next adventure in our lives - marriage! Looking back at how our story began, it's so clear that God's hand was in every part of our relationship. I tell Cameron all the time that he's my answered prayer. Prior to being introduced to Cameron over Facetime, I had heard of him through my best friend, Jensine. Cameron and his youth group visited California to tour GSBC and other colleges. I was a senior in high school at the time when Jensine said, "There's a guy on our bus that you would think is cute. He's Chad's brother and he's visiting." I responded with a, "Who's Chad?" At that time, senior year was very hectic and I quickly forgot about this 'cute guy.' Now, fast forward to end of my freshman year in college and I'm sitting in the gym with Stephanie watching volleyball championships. I glance over at Marcus who happened to be Facetiming his best friend, Cameron. I saw him on Marcus's phone screen and I whispered to Stephanie, "Oh, he's cute." Marcus heard and made sure to tell Cameron. Cameron then followed me on Instagram and messaged me. From there we exchanged numbers and texted back and forth for a few months until Cameron went to college. We stopped talking because we never met each other, but there was something about this guy. I started praying that God would work in his heart to come to Bible college for one year, even though I thought it was impossible to happen. I met Cameron for the first time in person on March 2018 when he came and visited Chad. After his visit, he decided to attend GSBC! God answered that prayer! The year Cameron lived in California was the best because I got to know him and fall in love with him! God has the most perfect timing, all I needed to do was trust Him! I cannot believe that I will be marrying the man of my dreams. I love you so much Cameron!
