Madeline McGee

Maid of Honor

I've known Madeline since we started high school at CALP, so almost ten years now...and we were roommates at UNC for all four years! She has been my steady friend and closest pal through high school, college and now adulthood. I have always said that everyone needs a Madeline in their life because she is the truest of friends who has a special knack for making every individual feel important and cared for. Some of my most favorite memories with Madeline include Hallmark Christmas movie marathons, late night chats and roaming around Spain and London together. And we all know that really we have her to thank for Micah and I's relationship! I cannot imagine a better person and friend to support me as my Maid of Honor on our special day!

Trent Brown

Best Man

Trent and I met freshman year, when we both lived in Suite 710 in HoJo. We became good friends freshman year, and have lived together for the past four years. Over that time, he’s become one of my best friends, and has witnessed (or participated in) just about all of my college shenanigans. Between dozens (+?) of late night Cook Out runs, trips to DC and Florida, and hiding in the bushes to take pictures of my proposal to Olivia, Trent has always been right beside me, and I’m very excited to have him next to me at my wedding.

Jessica Schap

Bridesmaid

Jessica and I met our first weekend at UNC when Madeline and I went to meet her and her roommate (Jess G.) at I <3 NY Pizza on Franklin Street. It wasn't our proudest restaurant choice, but it was the start of some wonderful friendships! Jessica has been my partner in crime, whether that was pulling pranks at the Borough, watching trashy TLC shows, or making late night Wendy's runs. She is the best encourager and someone I can always count on for a listening ear. I am so excited to have Jessica by my side as we both plan our 2019 weddings, and I can't wait to have her there on my special day!

James Schap

Groomsman

James and I met my freshman year at UNC when he started dating Jessica, one of Olivia’s close friends. He invited me to go on Cru’s Men’s Retreat with him, which was an absolute blast, and helped me get connected with a Bible study and meet a lot of great guys. James has been one of the most influential men in my life during my college years, and has helped me grow in my faith, and in my relationship with Olivia.

Jess Gaul

Bridesmaid

Jess and I also met that fateful evening at I <3 NY Pizza, and I am so grateful we did because Jess and I have clicked as friends since the beginning. We both have a passion for politics, social justice and how those two things interact with the Church. We've had lots of classes together, so many that I'm convinced some of our professors thought we went everywhere together! Jess has gifts of wisdom and trustworthiness that make her a gem of a friend, someone I could always count on to be in my corner. She has been such an encouragement to me the past four years, and I cannot wait to have her by my side on my wedding day!

Nathaniel Ballard

Groomsman

At some point during middle school, I got a call from Nathaniel asking if I wanted to come over and hang out. Since then, I’ve probably spent about half my time in Charlotte at his place. He’s been one of my best friends for close to a decade now, and we talk just about every day. He also let me date his sister so... there’s that.

Lexie Edwards

Bridesmaid

Lexie and I met freshman year through Madeline (surprise!), and we became good friends pretty quickly. We spent a lot of time teasing Madeline, making memes and eating in Lenoir - the foundations of a great friendship! Lexie has always been a great friend and some of my fondest memories with her are during the summer we both stayed in Chapel Hill to work. We went on numerous adventures, baked lots of pies and ate "vegetable plates" at Cracker Barrel. She actually helped me get ready for Micah and I's first date that summer! I am so excited to have Lexie by my side for wedding planning and on the day I say I do!

Justin Sweet

Groomsman

Justin is my cousin, and has been one of my closest friends for as long as I can remember. He’s lived nearby pretty much my entire life, and as kids we spent countless hours stomping around in the woods, playing video games, and, on one occasion, getting into a fist fight inside a Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Gabrielle Capps

Bridesmaid

Gabrielle and I met through Cru at UNC freshman year, were suitemates sophomore year and roommates when Madeline went to Spain junior year. G has been one of my closest friends since we met, always making me laugh and getting me outside of my comfort zone. We've always been able to be real with each other, and I feel like I could tell her anything. It has been such a joy to have a fun-loving friend like her in my life the past four years. I can always count on her for encouragement and laughter, which are two things that will make her an excellent person to stand by my side on my wedding day!

Austin Blair

Groomsman

Austin and I became very close friends very quickly our junior year at UNC. He has hosted several of our “sleepovers”, like when our power went out during a snowstorm so Trent and I fled our apartment in search of heat, running water, and a ping pong table. Austin shares my love for good food, namely smoked Gouda cheese and the finest burger in Pensacola, at Maguire’s Irish Pub. Also, he’s a culinary wizard. The man can cook, ladies ;)

Jess Harrison

Bridesmaid

I met Jess my freshman year when she lived in my suite, but we were also in bible study together. Jess and I were close friends during our dorm years, but once we moved into the Borough, we got a lot closer. I always loved hopping on Jess' big comfy bed to share embarrassing stories and advice. She has always been the one who has curled my hair before important events and helped me look my best on several dates this past year. I can always count on Jess to offer solutions when I need them and a giant hug when I need that. I am so excited to have her in my bridal party!

Sagar Shetty

Groomsman

Sagar was also a freshman year HoJo 710 resident, and has lived with me all throughout college. He has to be the most contemplative person I know, and we’ve spent wayyyy too much time sitting around reflecting and contemplating life together in our apartment. However, although he might seem quiet and reserved at first, Sagar is definitely the wildcard, and can turn just about any situation into comedy gold. We’ve become very good friends over the last few years, and I’m really glad that he’s in my wedding!

Stuartt Nusbaum

Bridesmaid

Stuartt is my current roommate and one of the funniest people I've ever met. Her joy is contagious and I love hearing "hey buddy!" whenever I walk through the door. We have bonded over decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving, romantic comedies and eating just slightly under baked cookies weekly. One of my favorite memories of Stuartt is hearing her gleeful scream when I called to tell her I was engaged and then coming home to a wedding magazine, champagne and banana bread in the oven that night. Stuartt has the biggest heart and she wears it on her sleeve. I can't wait to have her stand by my side on our special day!

Jay Rao

Groomsman

Like Trent and Sagar, I have lived with Jay since freshman year. He’s helped me survive just about every computer science class I’ve taken, and I don’t think I would have been able to graduate without his help. Jay and I share our tastes in TV shows almost perfectly, so we’ve spent a concerning amount of time watching Netflix together over the years.. so maybe if I’d spent that time studying, I wouldn’t have needed so much help with my degree 😂 Regardless, Jay has been a constant friend, and I’m glad to have him as one of my groomsmen!
