Let the Adventure Begin!

It was about two weeks into our freshman year of college, and neither of us knew the other existed. One night, as I played Skyrim at my dorm neighbor's, this tall, blonde (yes - he was blonde!), surfer/swimmer looking guy came through to see my neighbor and friend, Justin. Needless to say, as soon as he left, I immediately asked Justin who his cute friend was, discovering that the cutie's name was Kenny, and that he and Justin had gone to high school together. Justin's girlfriend was coming to visit that weekend, and so he suggested setting up a double date for us -- incidentally, Kenny was single, too. Fast-forward to the following weekend, and I was equal parts nervous and excited -- but I had no illusions that anything more than a nice evening would come of it. And I could not have been more wrong. We stayed up well past midnight watching movies -- The Pirates of the Caribbean (Black Pearl, of course), Stepbrothers, etc., -- and then continued to stay up and talk until the sun came up. We waited for the cafeteria to open and got breakfast, continuing to discover shared interests -- Studio Ghibli movies, stand-up comedy, comic books and the ensuing DC vs. Marvel debate, art and music -- until yet another day had gone by. By the time the weekend was over, we both had the feeling that we'd stumbled into something special, and decided to give it a shot. Fast-forward 5 years, 2 college degrees, 2 international vacations, 2 natural disasters, and a handful of trips to the hospital later, and we're still pretty crazy about each other. Neither of us ever expected that this is where we would end up, but we absolutely could not be happier to be here, nor could we be happier to share the experience with you.
