Our story began on September 10, 2018, in Auburn, Alabama—known as the loveliest village on Earth. It started at my favorite spot, Moe’s, which was my second home. That night, Stewart was just another student firefighter, like my sister Mason, who had returned for the big Georgia game. She kept mentioning this friend from the fire department I had to meet. As the bar wound down, Mason walked in and made the introduction.
You’d think that would be the start of our “happily ever after,” but it took a couple of years of random run-ins and bar crawls before Stewart finally asked for my number. On July 4, 2020, we sat on a dock watching the sunset and made it official.
Fast forward—we packed our bags for Austin, TX, where we spent three amazing years, falling in love with a city that rivals Auburn for “loveliest.” Then life brought us back to Alabama. On June 21, 2024, Stewart got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, once again on a dock at sunset.
