Things To Do

Vermont is one of our favorite places in the whole world. It is where we fell in love, met some of our best friends, earned our doctorates, where we spend holidays, and now where we will be getting married! If you have the time, here are some things to do in the area:

Idletyme Brewing Company

1859 Mountain Road, Stowe, VT 05672

Great place for a bite to eat right in town!

Doc Ponds

294 Mountain Road, Stowe, VT 05672

They have the best wings and burgers! This is Julia's favorite restaurant in town!

Cold Hollow Cider Mill

3600 Waterbury-Stowe Road, Waterbury Center, VT 05677

The best donuts you'll ever have! They also have a tasting room and a delicious lunch menu.

Ben & Jerry’s Factory

1281 Waterbury-Stowe Road, Waterbury Village Historic District, VT 05676

von Trapp Brewery & Bierhall

1333 Luce Hill Road, Stowe, VT 05672

This was one of our favorite places while we were in grad school. After you grab a drink at the brewery, take a walk around the Trapp Family Lodge property!

Gondola Skyride

7416 Mountain Road, Stowe, VT 05672

Take a ride on the Stowe Gondola to take in the views from the top of Mt. Mansfield. Tickets are required, but it's worth it!

The Alchemist Brewery

100 Cottage Club Road, Stowe, VT 05672

Taproom, live music, a beer garden, and limited edition brews for takeout!

Burlington

Church Street, Burlington, VT 05401

If you have a rental car and feel like exploring, Burlington is about 40 minutes from Stowe. Enjoy Lake Champlain or take a walk down Church Street. Stop in at Ake's Place to see where we had our first date. If you are feeling adventurous, walk or rent bikes on the Causeway! It is breathtaking.

Hiking

Vermont is known for its hiking and beautiful views! Some easy trails near Stowe: - Bingham Falls: 0.5 mi round trip. Beautiful waterfall! - Moss Glen Falls in Stowe: 0.5 mi round trip. River and waterfall views! - Wiessner Woods: 1.5 mi loop. Near the Casey property, look for the family of dwarves and gnomes that live there! - Barnes Camp Loop in Stowe: 1.5 mi loop. Views of smuggler's notch! Please check the weather and pick a path that is suitable for your hiking level!
