Yourselves, some fun outfits, and, importantly, a required offering of a rock, a feather, a seashell - whatever - to give to us as a blessing on our wedding day. This will be a token of the places that all of you came from to celebrate with us, as well as a way for us to ground ourselves throughout our married lives.
No. Wear whatever color you want. Except maybe a plain white dress ;)
Our dress code is garden party, so please have fun with what you wear! We'd love to see your funkiest suit, dress, pantsuit, and fascinator. The entire ceremony and dinner are going to be outside. In Colorado, August generally brings high, dry heat (90's) during the day with the potential for a relatively cooler (60's-70's) evening. The venue is mostly in the shade during the evening hours, which greatly cuts down on the heat factor. Dress accordingly. Please do note that you will be walking between 5-7 minutes on some potentially uneven ground, so stilettos may not be the safest choice for your ankles and general well-being. We don't care about your footwear. Wear comfortable shoes.
1) Unfortunately, we are hosting a child-free event. We hope that this heads-up is enough time for you to find adequate child care. If you have any questions as to why we are choosing this, please reach out! 2) Plus one's are indicated on your save the date and invitation. If you do not have one marked, please do not bring an extra person! We appreciate your cooperation and are so excited to see everyone!
Good question! Check out the Travel page on our website for some recommendations. You'll notice there are not any Airbnbs or VRBOs in town. The City of Boulder does not allow short-term rentals, which is either a good or a bad thing depending on your opinion. Worry not! There are plenty of nice hotels in the area. You can find some recommendations in our Travel tab, or you can do some digging through discount websites like Hotels.com.
YES! We will have shuttles, and there will be enough space for everyone! See our transportation page for more details. There is ample parking at the venues if you wish to drive yourself. We still recommend carpooling whenever possible to have more fun with your friends.
The afterparty is for anyone who wants to party! The city of Boulder doesn't want us to have a dance party on Flagstaff, so we are going elsewhere to keep the fun times rolling! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxb_X12HZWQ
Boulder sits at about 5,500 ft above sea level, and the venue for ceremony and dinner sits at nearly 7,000 ft above sea level. Much of Colorado is what is known as a "high desert"... it's high, it's dry, and it's hot. Follow these simple tips to stay comfortable! Exertion (it's high): To start, and mostly to end, there is less oxygen up here than at sea level. This means that exercising and existing in general will feel more difficult than what you are used to. In Boulder, you have roughly 80% of the oxygen you are used to at sea-level. At 10,000 ft, you have less than 70% of that oxygen. Take this into consideration when planning hikes or other excursions. Hydration (it's dry): Drink more water! You lose water faster through your skin. You will also get drunker faster (this is not scientifically proven, but is anecdotally verified). Feeling drunker is mostly because you are dehydrated. DRINK WATER. PLEASE. Sunshine (it's hot): The sun is stronger here because you are literally closer to it. Wear ample sunscreen and rock those sunglasses when out and about.
Silly headpiece from England. Not required, but encouraged. Bring one. Trade it with a friend. Be fascinated.
