The Chicken House is a small addition to a business that has statues of chickens and a woman chasing them on its flat roof. It is outside and you cannot enter it, but you can clearly see it from the road. You can also travel the entire town (it's a small town) and find really unusual homes throughout the area. Directions: From US Hwy 90 in Marathon turn south onto Ave. D (It's the biggest intersection in downtown). Drive south and cross the train tracks. You'll see the Chicken House ahead on the left.
Google maps is incorrect. Sul Ross students hiked to install a desk on the top of the small mountain. Park in the Sul Ross parking lot to access trailhead. Museum of The Big Bend is very close to that parking lot! "Hikers are also encouraged to observe property boundaries separating SRSU from private property. Please reference map links at the top of this page."
