Abbie Brainard has been Miann’s lifelong friend. From their days riding the school bus together as kindergarteners to matching class schedules in high school, they’ve grown up side by side. Though college took them in different directions—Abbie attending Upper Iowa University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree and now works as a graphic designer in marketing—their bond has remained constant. Through the miles and life’s many changes, Abbie has always been grateful for Miann’s unwavering friendship. Today, she is filled with joy and pride to stand by Miann’s side and celebrate the love and union of two incredible people on their wedding day.

Nathan Behrens

Best Man

Nathan is a fellow Luther grad who practices social work and combats systemic deficits with nunchucks and sheer will. He is terrified of the ephemeral nature of our existence, cannot operate motion-sensor sinks, and likes pumpkin pie. Nathan fathered a furry child with Malachi and also thinks Miann is pretty rad. Regarding the matrimony of his wonderful friends, Nathan is overjoyed and full of happiness for them.

Emmelyn Cullen

Emmelyn Cullen is Malachi’s second cousin and became friends with Miann at Luther College. She is currently studying for her Master’s degree in Entomology at the University of Manitoba. Emmelyn is very excited to see these two wonderful people get married and is thrilled to see Miann become part of the family!

Kai Stemm

Kai Stemm is a fellow Luther grad and double bassist from Falcon Heights, MN. He met the groom his year in the Luther College Double Bass section. He grew close with the groom after a month-long residency in Vienna, Austria, shortly before the soon-to-be-married couple started dating. He is wishing the happy couple a prosperous marriage!

Charlotte Ravenscroft

Charlotte and Miann met their very first week at Luther College, and almost immediately found in one another a kindred spirit and lifelong friend. Charlotte is a registered nurse in Rochester, MN and has long known Malachi as well through his cousin (and fellow bridesmaid!) Emmelyn with whom she also shares a lifelong friendship. She is honored to share this day, and many more, with them as their love continues to grow.

Liam Edberg

Groomsman

Liam’s primary passion is sweet nature stuff and he is pursuing a career in conservation. When he’s not outside looking at bugs, he’s chasing a plastic disc or practicing violin. Speaking of violin, Liam met Malachi in his freshman year at Luther while on tour in Vienna! Since then, Malachi has become a trusted friend. Liam thinks the world of Miann too, and is excited for the newlyweds to start the next chapter of their lives together!

Liam Aldrich

Officiant

Liam Aldrich is the officiant, and a friend of Miann's since high school. They met Malachi over board games and trivia at Impact Coffee in Decorah. They're studying Civil Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and will happily engage you about work or Minnesota sports for an unreasonably long time.
