If you have any other questions other than what we’ve listed here, you know where to find us! Additionally we will continue to add more FAQs so please check back in for updates.
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! Beach Casual! We encourage you to go barefoot for the Ceremony given it will be on the beach in sand (though the sand may be hot, so flip flops are welcome!). You will need shoes for the reception which is outside in The Grove. That said, feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

In order to keep our guest list on track and not exceed venue capacity limits we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your Save the Date.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Our fantastic parents are hosting a Breakfast from 9:30-11:30am ET on Monday, March 7 in the "Backyard" at the Nautilus by Arlo Hotel -- less than a 10 min walk from the W South Beach Hotel.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Valet parking at the W South Beach will be available for wedding guests at a reduced rate (TBC) or there is a very large lot with public parking next to the hotel for a rate of $4 per hour.

Question

What’s the weather in Miami in March?

Answer

To quote our catering manager, “It’s always hot in Miami”. But you can expect the temperature to be in the high 70s to low-mid 80s. Just be mindful that sunset will be at around 6:30pm ET and it may begin to get a bit cooler as night falls. Cooler in Miami terms may mean low 70s! Though weather has also been known to be in as low as high 50s in early March at night.

Question

Is the entire event outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, yes. The ceremony will be held on the beach at 5:30pm ET, however the sun will not set until closer to 6:30pm ET so you will be exposed to the sun for a period of time. The reception will follow at The Grove on the back outdoor patio garden at the W South Beach, which is also exposed to the sun, however has lush garden and tree coverings to offer plenty of shade. For anyone needing a breather you will have full access to the hotel lobby and bar.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive to the W South Beach Hotel Lobby no later than 5:00pm ET on March 6 and our fabulous Wedding Planner, Eric will show you out to the beach.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the Wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to take and post pictures on their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag so we can keep track of and save all of your pictures!

Question

What's the best way to get around South Beach?

Answer

We like to think of South Beach as NYC meets LA - an urban vibe against a beach backdrop! South Beach is extremely walkable in much the same way most metropolitan cities are. Other means of transportation which are very accessible are: Uber/Lyft: The average trip from point to point in South Beach is between $6-10. CitiBike: CitiBikes are located on nearly every other block in South Beach and offer a cheap and fun way to get around. https://citibikemiami.com/

Question

What is the closest airport to the Wedding Venue?

Answer

Miami International Airport [MIA} is about 12 miles from the W South Beach, where both the Ceremony and Reception will be held. Drive time is about 20-25 minutes with no traffic. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport [FLL} is roughly 30 miles north of the W South Beach. Drive time is 40-45 minutes with no traffic.

Question

Have you reserved a room block at the hotel?

Answer

No, as we know many of our family and friends are keen on making a longer stay out of their travel and are looking for a variety of accommodations, we will not be offering a room block. However, some have chosen to stay at the Boulan South Beach Hotel [across from the W]. We are working directly with the hotel to secure discounted room rates, however rates will vary by check-in date and based on availability at the time of booking. Other hotels to consider are the Nautilus by Arlo [4 blocks south of the W] and the AC Hotel Miami Beach [A Marriott Hotel] on Collins and 29th St. There is also The Gates Hotel South Beach across the street from the W [which is a Hilton Doubletree hotel]. As many of you may already be aware, travel has been at an all time high across the country. We strongly urge you to take a look at flights and hotels sooner than later as many cities, including Miami Beach, are at high risk of selling out.
