It all started the week before the world shut down. Mia was in the Bay Area for work; Remington just happened to be one of the only people in the office that Monday. Burrito bowls turned into a week of sampling Milpitas’ finest cuisine and one windswept night on Ocean Beach where they realized this might be more than a cool office friendship. Then Mia flew home to Seattle—and in came lockdown. What followed were months of long-distance texts, pandemic chaos, and shared Chipotle burritos over video chat. Eventually, Rem boarded a northbound flight to Seattle, “critical worker” story and blank checks in hand. Together they explored the Olympic Mountains—rainforests, beaches, and rocky peaks—kicking off a streak of road trips, one-way tickets, van adventures, and countless trailside meal innovation sessions. Five years later, we're still exploring side by side, ready to celebrate a lifetime of love, new summits, and exceptional snacks.
