It was the year 2023 and we met on an app called HER, the end….. Just kidding, well not about the app part. Laura and I did meet on the app, HER, in October of 2023. We talked for about 3 months before we finally met in person on a freezing cold January 13th night. I, Mia, tried to reschedule because I only had my little motorcycle at that time and I didn’t want to freeze my butt off. Pretty sure Laura thought I was just trying to flake because she wasn’t having that. I quote “ I can come pick you up” is what Laura responded with. I mean though who could blame her I’d want to meet me also. I agreed for her to come pick me up… although knowing what I know now about her listing to all these true crime documentaries I probably should not have given her my home address lol. We had our first date at a putt-putt place called Puttery. I pulled out all the stops, I mean everything. From my awesome dance moves to kicking her butt in putt putt, I was on a roll. Our night was coming to an end we shared our first kiss right before we shared our first meal at midnight at you guessed it Denny’s! I know we are so romantic. After the whole “I don’t want anything serious” to Laura being my valentine, to her asking me to move in with her, to me asking her to my by girlfriend in July and us packing up our lives to move to Austin and buying a house we finally decided it was time to get engaged! Now we want to celebrate how much we love each other with all our friends and family.
