Our Love Story Cody & Mia’s love story is one of friendship at the foundation, initial denial of their feelings for each other and then a deep commitment to growing & protecting their love for one another. December of 2018, a mutual friend came to town and insisted Cody join them for a New Years celebration at Mia’s. Cody was seeing someone at the time and in fact had brought her to the party. Mia being new to Austin was also active in the dating scene. Over the coming months that would be the theme, their friend groups had meshed so well and they would spend endless fun times together, while pretending they didn’t care for each other as deeply as they did. But they knew something was there - they enjoyed each other’s company more than they were willing to admit. Cody would try to take Mia on dates and get 1:1 time which she would regularly deny - Cody stayed persistent though. Eventually though and before Cody’s annual trip to OCMD for MDW, Mia asked if Cody would be her boyfriend and without a second thought, Cody accepted knowing his persistence paid off. They took their time, but once they knew, they knew. Not long after, they told each other, “I love you,” they moved in together, Cody kept a note of all the little things he loved about Mia. The next 6 years they grew their love & fought for their love through many moments, big and small. They also shared a love for their born son, Hank that the whole world could feel. Cody finally proposed to Mia May 3rd, 2025 in the “Switzerland of the US,” Ouray, CO. And now they are set to get married in Cody’s childhood home in Sandy Spring, MD, June 5th, 2026.
