We’re getting married!

Mia and Clay met in the 7th grade at Stivers School for the Arts in Dayton, OH. Mia was in the piano and choir magnets, and Clay was in the piano, band, orchestra, and jazz band magnets (a lot, we know!). Clay was smitten with Mia the moment they met, and he became her first (secret) boyfriend for ONE WHOLE WEEK. After that, they remained friends throughout middle and high school, and eventually went to college together at Ohio University in Athens, OH. There, they grew closer and ultimately started dating their sophomore year of college. After graduating (which Mia takes credit for getting Clay to graduate on time), they set their sights on Chicago where Mia began her doctoral training in clinical psychology. They loved the city, but eventually took a slight detour when Mia got her internship at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Despite not loving the small town feel, the two of them still had each other, and eventually made their way back to Chicago after Mia graduates from her program. These two have been together for a whopping SIX YEARS and it will be their 7th dating anniversary shortly after their wedding date. This would not be a good story without including Clay and Mia's pride and joy, Binx, their 3 year old siamese cat they adopted in 2021 during the peak of the pandemic. Together, the three of them continue to love, support, annoy, tease, and laugh together and hope to continue this journey long after the wedding day.
