We're getting married!

Mhariam and Duane crossed paths during their sophomore year at university. Initially, they were just classmates with different circles of friends. For the next two years, they shared classes, exchanged occasional greetings, and sometimes borrowed notes from each other. They were like two ships passing in the night—or rather, two sleep-deprived students passing in the hallway. But then came senior year. The stars (stress) aligned, the friend groups merged, and suddenly, Mhariam and Duane found themselves in the same orbit. They quickly became each other's best friend, confidante, and partner in crime. Together, they transitioned from college dorks to semi-functioning adults, navigating the ups and downs of post-grad life with a lot of laughter and tears. Fast forward six years, after countless adventures, a worldwide pandemic and 3-years worth of long distance video calls, here they are, ready to tie the knot. They’ve gone from being classmates to best friends to soulmates, and they can’t wait to spend the rest of their lives together.

Mhariam and Duane have always enjoyed a good laugh and shared many spontaneous moments throughout their relationship. So, it was no surprise that Duane chose a unique and memorable way to propose. On Mhariam's birthday, Duane surprised her with not just one, but two proposals. The first proposal took place in a parking lot with an 'everyday' ring. It was a light-hearted, funny moment that perfectly encapsulated their playful dynamic. Mhariam thought it was just a funny and sweet gesture, a moment that was quintessentially them. Unbeknownst to her, there was a second proposal in store. Duane convinced Mhariam to go to a late dinner he had reserved. During this intimate setting, he gave her a heartfelt and serious proposal with the real engagement ring. Mhariam said yes to both proposals, delighted to start this next chapter together.
