It's ACTUALLY happening!

November 7, 2013. MG was on her way home from work, when her phone reminded her that she had signed up for a Singles Mixer in Rosslyn, VA. Hesitant and tired, she thought, "Why not?" and decided to go. Not wanting to leave her guitar in the cold car, she brought it along to the mixer. After over an hour of small talk, she left the restaurant and strummed the guitar as she walked back to her car. Who else would walk by - but the tall and ever-handsome Mark Reeves? Thinking that MG was busking (playing music for voluntary donations), Mark asked her to play him a song. Being the extrovert that she is, MG played and sung "Someone Like You" by Adele. Mark was captivated and in turn asked her for her phone number. The two of them texted for a month, until finally deciding to go on their first date - where they had margaritas, played games, sang karaoke, and ate food until midnight. Sparks flew, and as they say..... The rest is history...

September 22, 2019. A double date with their friends George & Sarah was on the calendar. Having not seen their friends in some time, Mark asked MG to dress up for the outing. When they arrived at the restaurant, Mark received a text from George indicating they were unable to make it, and needed to cancel. Other than feeling slightly annoyed, MG didn't suspect anything. They stayed for a small bite, and afterwards Mark suggested having a drink someplace else. When they got into the car, Mark gave MG a blindfold to put on. “Oh my God... this is it. IT’S HAPPENING!" she thought 🤩🤩 After a short ride, Mark pulled over and led MG by her hand to a stopping point. As he removed the blindfold, MG could see Mark’s niece and sister holding up their cellphones. ***CUE THE TEARS*** As they held hands, MG looked down to see that she was standing on a bed of rose petals - at the very same spot they had first met. Mark gave a beautiful and thoughtful speech (which he later repeated for MG as she was too emotional to remember it). ...And she said YES! Afterwards, they headed to MG’s Mom's house to share the good news. Expecting to only find her Mom there, when the door opened - both families were waiting for a big surprise engagement party! This included MG's Dad and Stepmom, who had flown in from California, and her brother Carlos. The evening was filled with love, laughter, and the beginning of their happily ever after...
