Should I stay downtown or in the suburbs?

Answer

We highly recommend staying downtown! While our reception is outside of the city, our welcome party and ceremony both take place in the heart of Chicago. Please see the Travel tab for hotel recommendations and transportation details, and check out the Things to Do tab for a few of our favorite activities in Chicago and Lake Forest.

How do I get from St. Clement to Elawa Farm?

Answer

There may be opportunities to carpool with those who are local. Alternatively, Uber/Lyft are highly available and the Metra Train offers a direct line between Chicago and Lake Forest. Travel time between Chicago and Lake Forest is roughly 30-45 minutes. We highly recommend heading up to the suburbs immediately following the conclusion of our ceremony to avoid traffic. Please note if you plan to utilize rideshare, you may set Elawa Farm as your drop off location. If you plan to drive to the reception, you must park in a nearby lot (address below) and take our provided shuttle to Elawa Farm. How do I get back downtown after the reception?

Answer

For those staying downtown for the weekend, we will be offering return transportation at the end of the evening. Please see the Travel tab for more details.

Black-Tie Optional Attire We highly recommend ladies wear block or lower heels due to the grass at Elawa Farm.

Is the venue outdoors?

Answer

There is nothing better than a Chicago summer! Elawa Farm is an outdoor venue. We will be dining beneath a tent and dancing in the open-air hay barn. In the event of inclement weather (which is not going to happen!!), we will be covered.

We love your little ones, but if their name is not on your invitation we look forward to seeing them another time!
